JAZZ CRUISE WELCOMES KENNY BALL AND CLAIRE MARTIN
This month onboard the Pride of Bilbao, we are pleased to welcome some of the leading lights from the British Jazz scene, for a jazz mini-cruise.
Amongst the acts appearing onboard is singing sensation Claire Martin, fresh from a three day stint at the world famous Ronnie Scott's, ("Talented and hip beyond her years.... the most exciting jazz star to soar to my attention in a decade" Rex Reed - The New York Observer).
She is instantly recognizable as a unique creative performer. Her reputation as an artist of great versatility is demonstrated by current projects, which span Halle Orchestra, Lawrence Cottle Big Band and HR Big Band as well as her regular quartet and CD releases.
The cruise will round off in style with Kenny Ball, now a genuine institution, and the most successful jazz trumpet player this side of the Atlantic. His landmark recordings of the 1960s such as 'Midnight in Moscow' catapulted him to worldwide fame, and since then he has become a living legend. Along with his ‘Jazz Men', he will be performing a number of well-known tracks including their traditional, 1960s hits including "Samantha" and "Midnight in Moscow".
