The Client
Aroya Cruises is Saudi Arabia's first luxury cruise line, offering unparalleled travel experiences for the citizens and residents of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf. Based in Jeddah, Aroya operates with a commitment to world-class amenities and exceptional service across every voyage.
The Challenge
Building an entertainment programme for a brand-new cruise line is a significant undertaking in itself. Doing so for a market that had never previously had a domestic luxury cruise product — with a guest demographic that had distinct cultural expectations, language requirements and family entertainment priorities — made this one of the most complex and exciting briefs Live Business had ever received.
The programme needed to celebrate Saudi and Gulf culture authentically whilst operating to the international luxury hospitality standards that Aroya's positioning demanded. It also needed to work across multiple entertainment venues onboard, catering simultaneously to adults and children, across a broad age range.
The Solution
Live Business was awarded the exclusive contract to provide family entertainment services onboard Aroya Cruises. Our approach began with a deep discovery process — researching the guest demographic, the cultural context and the operational environment of the vessel — before any creative work began.
We designed and delivered a complete entertainment ecosystem including: original concept design for the entire onboard entertainment programme; bespoke children's entertainment featuring original characters and animated content developed specifically for Aroya; live show production including headline evening shows and family performances; full recruitment and training of the onboard entertainment team; and ongoing operational management throughout the season.
The programme incorporated live production shows, interactive digital experiences, children's clubs, daytime activity programming, live music and specialist family entertainment — all developed in-house by Live Business and all tailored to the specific cultural and commercial requirements of the Aroya brand.
The Result
The partnership with Aroya Cruises marked a significant milestone for Live Business as we expanded into the luxury Arabian cruise market — and for Aroya as they established world-class entertainment standards from day one. The programme has been widely praised by guests and positions Aroya as a genuine leader in onboard guest experience in the region.
